I am beginning my 6th year as a proud member of our Los
Alamitos School and PTA community! My oldest son, Tyler, is starting
5th grade (I can't believe it!) and my twins, Carter & Griffin, are
beginning 3rd grade. It has been a privilege to be a part of their
elementary school experience and our fabulous PTA!
Our PTA theme for this year is "Together, We Can!" and with parents,
teachers and administration working together, we enrich school programs
and make great things happen at Los Alamitos!
Join the PTA!
Membership dues are only $15 per person or $30 for a family membership.
There are two major benefits to becoming a PTA member. First, the
majority of your dues go directly to your child's classroom! Second.
you will automatically become a member of both the California State &
National PTAs, the largest volunteer child advocacy groups in the state &
nation.
Come Have Fun at Walk-a-Thon!
Please join us for our 16th annual and ONLY major fundraiser
of the year, "Walk-a-thon 2008." Mark your
calendars for Saturday, October 4th at 9:00am for this enjoyable family
event. We've had tremendous success holding Walk-a-thon at the
beginning of the school year and our continued success grows throughout
the school relationships and community partnerships formed on this day.
Our PTA sponsored Walk-a-thon generates over $90,000 annually, which goes
directly to the classrooms and academic programs benefiting all children
at Los Alamitos. Robotics, Art Vistas, Music, Technology, Science &
Project Cornerstone are just a few of the programs paid for by PTA funds.
In addition, PTA pays for assemblies, field trips, safety patrol gear,
sunshine birthday club for students, recess athletic equipment and snacks
for kids during state testing and other events.
Get Involved! We have a wonderful school, which is directly related
to the great families who show their support in a variety of ways.
You can support your child's school experience by becoming a PTA member,
attending a monthly PTA meeting, volunteering your time and/or making a
donation to the school.
If you have any questions or comments about PTA, please feel free to
contact me or any member of the PTA Board and/or refer to the
PTA "FAQ"
posted on this website.
