Safety Patrol

 

Mrs. Hogan - Safety Patrol Adviser Claire P. winner of AAA's 2004 Safety Patrol Officer of Northern California.

Fifth graders at Los Alamitos have the opportunity of serving on the Safety Patrol.  Training takes place during the last two weeks of their 4th grade year, and again during the first three weeks of their fifth grade year.

Participating in this activity requires a serious commitment of both the student and the parent.  The student is required to maintain:

Academic Performance
2's or above (C average) on for all report card grades

Citizenship
S's (satisfactory) of above for all report card grades

Respect
for the program and other Safety Patrol Officers

Dependability
no more than 2 absences from or tardies at your your assigned station

If your student is a member of the Safety Patrol, he or she will be scheduled for a 2-week shift on a rotational basis.  Students receive their schedule on Fridays.  If your child is ill or cannot serve during the 2-week period, the child must notify the captain and find a substitute officer.
