What is Walk-a thon?
Walk-a-thon or “WAT” is the major PTA sponsored fundraiser for the year. WAT is a fun-filled day to spend with your family and show support for Los Alamitos.
Why
do we need WAT?
Without
the money raised at WAT, our students will not have the enrichment programs that
make our school the special place it is. WAT supports our students at Los Alamitos in Science, Visual Arts, Technology, Music, Assemblies,
field trips and many other.....PLEASE JOIN US!
When
is WAT?
Saturday, October 4, 2008
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where
is WAT held?
WAT is held right here on the Los Alamitos campus.
What
is there to do at WAT?
Walking, teacher dance, walking, music, walking, fun foods, walking, silent auction, walking, BBQ lunch, walking, dutch raffle, and more walking!
Check out the scrapbook boards in the cafeteria to get a glimpse of what you can
do and how this event supports our kids.
How can I help?
We would like all Los Alamitos Students to participate in WAT. Last year over 500 students participated. It’s easy, just follow these simple steps:
1.
Turn in the
PTA waiver – located in today's White Envelope.
Your child cannot
participate without a signed waiver.
2.
Students
can make a poster to decorate the fence area of our school. More information to
follow....
3.
Review the Rules
Packet with your student (packets are distributed on Sept. 19th)
4.
Parents, please
volunteer to work a shift on Oct. 4th. We need a lot of “monkeys
in the jungle” to make this day a success.
No
experience necessary.
5.
Families can donate to the silent Auction and/or sponsor certain activities.
6.
Come to Walk-a-thon on October 4th and have fun!!
